China's Sorrow

I just drew this after studying about China and it's dynasties lol, after reading the stuff about the Yellow River or the Hwang Ho.

If you look at China's sleeve (the one covering the other eye) you can see a small yellow dust. It's the Loess sand stuff that comes from the Gobi Desert. He wiped it with the back of his sleeve and used the other to wipe away the tears.

The Yellow River's nickname is "China's Sorrow" because when it overflows, it sometimes destroys nearby crops and kills people, so I decided to draw China getting a Loess sand in his eye and cry.

For short, the Loess Sand from the Gobi desert gets blown by the wind and into the Yellow river, that's how it got it's name, by it's yellowish color.
